Victor Harbor Training Weekend

The Victor Harbor Training Weekend will be Friday 27th to Sunday 29th November. (2 nights away)

Lin & Lyn Green have kindly offered the use of their house at Victor as a base for the weekend. There will be limited space available for a few people to stay at the house, however most of us will be staying at the nearby Beach Front Caravan Park (www.victorbhp.com.au).

At the Caravan Park there is the option of an unpowered site ($25.00 per night 2 people – extra person 16 & over $12.00, under 16 $6.00), powered site ($27.00 plus extra charge for extra people), or a variety of cabins at different rates. Check on the website for details.

It will be easiest if you are intending to come along to book individually, they will require a deposit of 1 night’s accommodation. I have spoken with the people at the Caravan Park, if you mention you are with The Tribe Triathlon Club when booking a camping site, they will keep all our sites together (if you book online you will need to call them to let them know you are with TRIBE). If you are coming it would be best to book sooner rather than later. Check in is from 2:00 pm and check out 11:00am, however if there is nobody using the site before or after us, they are happy for us to arrive earlier and leave later, just need to check the day before arrival.

This weekend is intended to be as much about fun and socialising as it is about training, so all family members are very welcome and in fact encouraged to come along. As most of you are aware there is a great variety of things to do in and around Victor to keep everyone happy. Also you don’t need to come for the whole weekend, or take part in all the activities, just pick and choose what suits you best.

A rough guide for the weekend follows:

Friday:
PM - For those able to get to Victor in time – an open water swim in the Encounter Lakes in the evening. Dinner out afterwards.

Saturday:
AM - beachfront run, cool down swim afterwards
PM - Cycle, Ultimate Frisbee
Dinner – Green’s house for a BBQ.

Sunday:
AM – long group ride (a couple of different speed/distance groups to suit differing abilities)
PM – swim

Sometime during the weekend we will also try to hold a practice aquathon and some transition training. Exact details will be confirmed closer to the time, once we know how many people we have coming along.

Everyone will have to supply their own food for the weekend.

Once you have decided to come and have booked, please let Jo Clippingdale know ASAP.

Hope to see as many people as possible taking advantage of what should be a great weekend.
