RACE DETAILS

Sunday 4 July 2010 - Cromer Forest, Cricks Mill Road, Cromer

The Tribe Triathlon Club is pleased to present the Cromer Forest mountain bike duathlon events. Cromer Forest is part of Mount Crawford Forest Reserve, near Mount Pleasant in the northern Mt Lofty Ranges. Travelling from Adelaide via Gorge Road to Gumeracha, turn left to Forreston and travel approximately 15km until you reach a T-junction. Turn left and then right soon after taking the road towards Mount Pleasant. Travel about 4km to the park entrance on the left. It’s a great location with lots to do and see in the area - museums, local wineries, or touring the scenic countryside. Come the day before with friends and family and make a weekend of it.

EVENTS

Short Distance: 2km Run / 9km Cycle / 2km Run

Long Distance: 5km Run / 18km Cycle / 2km Run

There will be a combined relay team category, and male & female categories for all age group competitors. All events will be timed. The races are fully sanctioned by TriSA. The transition area will be in the compounds of Cromer Forest. The course is made up of a short 2km or a long 5km run, mostly on fire track. This is a one loop run. Enter transition at the end of the run to collect your bike to begin the cross-country mountain bike ride. The ride consists of 80% single track and 20% fire track. This is a single-loop ride for the short course and a two-loop ride for the long course. The second run is the short 2km loop and you leave in the same direction as the first run. This is a one loop run. Course maps available online and on the day. Car Parking will be available within the compounds of Cromer Forest.

RULES

Triathlon South Australia Race Rules and Regulations will apply and be available for viewing on the day. Drafting is not permitted and penalties will apply. Race numbers will be provided on the day.

ENTRIES

Please complete and post your entry to Tribe Triathlon Club, P.O. Box 1147, Balhannah, S.A., 5242. Alternatively, email sec@tribetriathlon.com.au to register and then pay on the day. Postal and email entries close 5:00pm Friday 02/07/10. Late entries will only be accepted with the late payment fee of $5.00.

The Tribe Triathlon Club wish to support children engaging in activity and whilst no competitive entries, whether team or individual, will be accepted for any person under the age of 12 (at 31st Dec 2009), we will provide a novelty event on race day if it is warranted.

SCHEDULE

Registration: At Cromer Forest on Race Day between 7.00am and 8.30am.

All competitors must register at these times.

Short Distance:               Race Briefing - 9.15am          Race Start - 9.35am

Long Distance:                 Race Briefing - 9.15am          Race Start - 9.30am

PRIZES

There will be post-race refreshments and presentations. Prize money and trophies will be awarded to the three fastest male and female finishers. Trophies will be presented to age group and relay winners.

SLEEP

There is a reasonable amount of accommodation located in nearby Birdwood but it would be advisable to book early. Camping is available at Cromer Forest and at Chalks Camping Area, 4km from the race. Forestry SA camping fees will apply.
