TRIBE Breaking News
04/7/10 - Cromer Xterra Results
The SportsPower Mt Barker Tribe Triathlon club cross country duathlon was held on Sunday July 4 at Cromer forest. One third of the competitors were female and they showed they were a force to be reckoned with. Zoe Dawson set a cracking pace in the first leg, a frosty 5km run that saw her gain a lead of almost 2 minutes on her nearest competitors, Andrew Loose and Darren Pollock. Kath Golding was the second female to complete the run, before taking to the mainly single track mountain bike course. Perfect conditions meant the track was fast and smooth, allowing good times to be set. Dawson was unstoppable, and flew around the track before completing the 2km final run in just 7:58. Her performance saw her take overall line honours, at 1:20:22. Golding was second female at 1:31:22, followed by Janelle White, 1:37:45. Georgie Collins put in a stellar effort to complete the bike leg still smiling after 1:48:00 on the bike course.
It was a very close battle for the top three males in the long course separated only by 0:03:16. First was Kevin Colla of Lobethal with a time of 1:23:05, proving coming to the warm up race a fortnight earlier was an advantage. If he had managed to have his bike shoes in the transition area, he could have had a much closer battle with Dawson. Second place getter was John Brennand, who set the fastest time on the bike and finished just 41 seconds behind Colla. It was so close between Colla & Brennande that they were side by side in transition from bike to the final run and it came down to who could clear the lactic acid out of the legs quickest. Third place was Cliff Sykes, who finished a safe distance ahead of fourth with a time of 1:26:21.
Short course was taken out by Sam Davis, an outstanding young man in the 12-13 year age group, showing age is no barrier. Davis had a 5 second lead after the first 2km run, but came out of the bike leg 5 seconds behind Duncan Norris. Davis had the legs in the final 2km run, to win from Norris in a time of 0:45:40. Third place went to Reece Turner (0:48:05) . Tara Manning made a triumphant return to competition after having a baby in January to win the female short course in a time of 0:56:42. Amanda Steele took second, with Michelle Watkin finishing third. A big thank you to all those people who help set up and marshall.

13/4/10 - Web Updates
By now you'll all have hopefully looked at the winter training times and options available to you to keep fit during the colder weather. Monday night running has moved to North Adelaide under lights and Thursday spin sessions in the hills start on 22/4. The event calendar has been updated with a change in club race dates in June and August so please check your diaries carefully; we apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause. We are running our Cromer Forest MTB race for the State again on the 4th of July and hope for a bigger and better year to succeed last year's fabulous inaugural event. Finally, our apologies must be given for the loss of data on breaking news since early Feb. We'll blame technology not operator error on this one!
3/2/10 - Hindmarsh Island , Time Trial and More Photos
It was a great race at Hindmarsh Island with 27 competitors. At 6:30 it was a beautifully calm day – the water was mirror smooth but the wind was picking up. By the time race start came around the wind was quite strong and the swim ended up being a bit choppy. The swim for the long course ended up at just over 400m and for the short about 200m. The ride out across the island was deceptively fast, as when competitors turned around they were struck by the wind, which by this time was really blustery. The run was an uneventful 2 laps (long) or 1 lap (short) along the raised walkway. Everyone enjoyed the change of venue. Post race lunch and/or breakfast at the tavern was an enjoyable finale to the event. Results are available on teh results page.
Time Trial results have also been updated, we have results from Gatti Race 4 and there are more photos from the Christmas Tri.
1/2/10 - Welcome Little Harrison
Congratulations to Ty
and Tara on the birth of their son Harrison. Born 26 January 2010.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.
23/1/10 - Gatti Race 3 Photos
Photos from Gatti Race 3 are now available in the Photo Album.
19/1/10 -
Much of the club's apparel is now on sale. Have a look at some of the huge discounts on many of our quality items on the Uniforms page. Contact Jo to see if we have a size to suit you. Be quick. Items are moving fast at these prices!
19/1/10 - Time Trial Hot Weather Policy
Our existing policy
states if the temperature in Mt Barker, according to the Bureau of Meteorology
(BOM) website, is 36 degrees or more at 4:00pm the time trial is cancelled.
We have encountered a problem with this in that the BOM take the temperature in
Mt Barker at 3:00pm (almost the hottest part of the day) and the committee feel
this is often not a reflection of what the temperature is by 6:15pm in
Charleston. The committee has, therefore, decided to amend our policy in
relation to time trials. Time trial training on Thursday
evenings will now be at the discretion of the time trial director and will be
based on the ambient temperature and conditions at the time of the time trial.
If you are unsure whether to join this training or not on any given
Thursday please contact Kevin to check the likelihood of event being held.
17/1/10 - Upcoming Club race info
The next Club race will
be at Hindmarsh Island on the 31st of January. When we last
held this race 2 years ago it proved to be a very popular and enjoyable event.
Registration will be from 8:00am with racing starting at 8:30am. Long
distance – 700m swim / 19km ride / 4.5km run. Short distance – 350m
swim / 10km ride / 2.25km run. The long distance swim is 2 x 350m laps,
the ride is a fairly flat and fast course out and back across the island and the
run is 2 x 2.25km loops. In the event of extreme heat the race will be
modified to suit the conditions. Lunch afterwards will be at the Tavern.
The owners there are providing us with support for the race, so it would be good
to return the favour and support them in turn. If you think you might like
to stay for lunch, please let Jo know – this is not a commitment to stay, it
will just give us an idea of numbers.
Andrew L has booked a
villa for the Saturday night before the race. The villa costs $230.00 for
the night and sleeps 8 people, with room for extras with your own bedding,
sleeping on the floor. Currently, there are already 6 staying the
night, so if you would prefer not to get up so early and are happy to throw a
swag on the floor, just let Andrew or myself know. The more we have
staying the cheaper it gets for everyone. If you’re quick there are
still 2 beds up for grabs!
We are also still in
need of a couple more marshals, so if you can bring along some family or friends
to help and also cheer you along as you race, please let Jo know.
Due to the clash with
the Murray Man, our club championship race will now be
held on the 27th of February. The race on the 13th
March will remain, but as a normal club event.
12/1/10 - Tour Down Under Club Ride and Jersey Collection (for those riding the Challenge event)
A number of club members will be riding in the Tour Down Under Mutual Community Challenge Ride on Friday 22 January. As part of the preparation for this everyone is invited to partake in a group ride on the morning of Sunday 17 January. Similar to last year, the plan is for all to head out in one group and ride at a pace that suits the group. We will have a course planned where people of differing capabilities can peel off and head back at suitable distances such that everyone has the opportunity to achieve a distance to suit themselves. The ride before the TDU last year was arranged like this and worked extremely well. For the more accomplished riders the pace of the pack increases as others depart and as such everyone gets a good workout. It is also an enjoyable social time with much discussion along the way. The ride is open to all, not just those doing the TDU Challenge ride. Plan on joining us this Sunday. The more the merrier. Details of start times and location will be advised closer to the time.
Secondly, for those signed up as part of Team “TRIBE TRIATHLON” Tom will be picking up your jerseys on Monday 18th, these can then be collected from him at the time trial Thursday (21st) evening. If you are unable to make the time trial, please contact Tom and you can make other arrangements.
10/1/10 - Race results
Well done to everyone who competed in today's JT cycles race. Our current hot weather makes training and racing more tiring than usual but numerous podium places were achieved by our esteemed friends. Special mention must be made of those who came first in their categories today - Andrew L, Adam, Nick and Jo. Results are up.
6/1/10
- Happy New Year![]()
Well Christmas is over and the new year is here. We hope you have all enjoyed some festivities or training or racing in the numerous events that have been on. Some members have been up to extraordinary things in the past few months racing interstate and overseas, challenging themselves and competing in different events. On the 1st of November Claudelle Martin ran in the New York City Marathon in a time of 4:36:18, thanks to the encouragemnet of Life Member Helen Roach. Claudelle raised $3000.00 for the McGuiness McDermott Foundation in her efforts. Showing the versatility of our members, on the 6th of December, Sue Gerrie and Dave Taylor competed in the Anaconda Adventure Race in Lorne, which consists of 1.9km ocean swim, 13.0km ocean paddle, 15.0km trail run, 24.0km mountain bike ride & 1.5km beach run. Sue teamed up with Paula Green with a total time of 6:40:56. Sue’s legs were the ocean paddle in a time of 1:44:05, trail run in a time of 2:21:40 & finishing with the team beach run in a time of 9:07. Dave teamed up with a previous club member Symen Kromkamp finishing in a total time of 5:35:40. Dave did the ocean paddle in a time of 1:46:48, Mountain Bike leg in a time of 1:26:30 & the team beach run in a time of 7:49. Well done everyone!
13/12/09 - Christmas Race Results
What a magnificent day! Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the race and Christmas celebrations yesterday. It was great to have so many people out racing, marshalling and cheering. Special thanks to all St John's families for coming out again. We hope you all had a lot of fun. Well done to Mark's team who actually beat Nick's team yesterday - we hope you all enjoy your accolades! Results are up for all to see.
10/12/09 - Christmas Race and Club Celebrations, New Uniforms and January Race
This Saturday (12th)
we are holding our Christmas Triathlon at the Woodside Pool. Registration from
3:30pm, race start 4:00pm. There are two distances to choose from –
Short: 200m swim/5km ride/1km run and Long: 400m swim/13km ride/3km run.
There will also be a mini/micro race for the kids, so bring their bathers &
bikes along as well if they have them. There will be an opportunity for
any kids who want to race to be able to do so. The current weather
forecast for Adelaide on Saturday is a sunny 25 degrees, so should be
ideal conditions for racing. Afterwards there will be a BBQ dinner. Sausages
will be provided by the club, but please bring a salad or dessert to share.
There is no glass or alcohol allowed in the pool
grounds. No need to pay pool entry for yourself or family/friends on your
way in, as this is covered by your race fee. Usual race fee of $10.00 for
club members applies. Non-members race fee of $10.00 and one day licence
fee of $15.00. Kids mini race is free.
Alison will bring all
uniform items along on Saturday. If you would like to see what is
available, just follow the Uniforms
link. There will also be tubs of “Nitro” electrolyte powder available
to buy at a cost of $23.00. For anyone who ordered the new tri-suits these have
now arrived and will also be available for collection on Saturday on payment of
the full remaining balance.
After the race lunch
will be at the Rankine’s Tavern Restaurant. It is still a long way off, but if
you plan to attend, please let Jo
know, so we can book a table. The Marina owners are providing us with help
placing the swim buoys and giving boat cover during the swim leg, as well as
allowing us to hold the triathlon, so it is good to return the favour and
support them in turn by lunching at the Tavern.
7/12/09 - Race reports
Fine but cool early conditions met those lining up for a late start on Sunday at Race 2 of the JT Cycles series. Several Tribesters tackled the longer course well and plenty of new members have been out amongst it all over the past two weeks. There have been some terrific times and impressive placings amongst our age-groupers. The Triple Sprint and Race 2 results are now up - if we've missed you please let us know.30/11/09 - Triathlon Training Weekend Report
What a great way to start off the new triathlon season! Despite adverse weather conditions there were 31 triathletes and family members that attended the club’s first training weekend. On Friday evening about 10 Tribesters donned the wetsuits and entered the water at Encounter Lakes for a long swim, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. A blustery Saturday morning saw 17 out for a group run. Distances covered ranged from 8km up to 13km with two 11 year olds in the group that made it to the top of the bluff and back. The afternoon session was held under very trying conditions. Undertaking transition training when the bike will not stay put on the rack due to gale force winds sorts out the die-hards from those less “committed” to their sport. Three triathletes undertook the training with another couple going for a long swim. In contrast to the adults cowering under the shelter, eight future triathletes participated in a modified aquathon. All of the kids enthusiastically completed the event, apparently unaffected by the torrid weather. The day concluded with a BBQ dinner at the Green’s house where everyone could sit back relax and enjoy the good company. On Sunday morning the weather had abated somewhat and 10 set out early for a familiarisation ride of the Victor Harbor triathlon cycle course. Following this, 3 more joined in to make 13 heading off for a longer group ride. There's a group photo on the Social Pages under Tribe Extras\Photo Album for all to see. It was a great opportunity to get away from home, mix up the regular training regime and have some fun. Maybe we’ll do it again next year!27/11/09
- Training
weekend and our next race
The training weekend commences this afternoon. Please see the Special
Events Page for details.
Our Christmas Triathlon
is on Saturday 12th December at 4:00pm at Woodside Town Pool.
Registration will be from 3:30pm. Afterwards there will be a BBQ dinner to
celebrate the festive season together. Sausages will be supplied by the
club but please bring either a salad or dessert to share. Also BYO
juice/soft drinks – alcohol is not allowed.
For added interest on
the day, everyone will be racing for individual glory, as well as being part of
a team. Before the beginning of the race there will be a random draw to
place everyone in teams of 3. You will race individually as usual,
then at the end of the race all 3 team member’s times will be added together
– lowest cumulative time will be the winning team!
To be able to run safe and successful events we need to have marshals at key
points during each event. The numbers will vary, depending on the course.
The committee has requested that each competitor supplies a marshal at one event
during the season. This can be either yourself, or a family member or
friend. The roster for marshals is on the club website, so it is easy to
see where gaps still exist. To nominate your preferred event please
contact Alison Ward – her details are on the contacts page of the website.

- Training in the Hot Weather PLUS updates to Club Events dates.
Just in case you haven't noticed - it's been a bit warm lately! In the interest
of members' safety and to make it easier for everyone to know if regular
scheduled training will be held on hot days, the Committee has come up with the
determining factors below.
The club’s policy in
deciding if Thursday night time trials will go ahead or not is as follows:
If the latest
weather observations for Mount Barker at 4:00pm, according to the Bureau of
Meteorology's website is 36.0°C or higher the time trial will be cancelled. If
you are in any doubt at all please contact our Race Director – Kevin on
Thursday afternoons - his contact details are on the contacts
page.
The club’s policy in
deciding if Monday running training will go ahead or not is as follows:
If the latest
weather observations for Adelaide at 4:00pm, according to the Bureau of
Meteorology's website is 36.0°C or higher the training will be cancelled. If
you are in any doubt please contact Asha - her contact details are on the contacts
page.
The club’s policy in
deciding if Wednesday running training will go ahead or not is as follows:
If the latest
weather observations for Mount Barker at 4:00pm, according to the Bureau of
Meteorology's website is 36.0°C or higher the training will be cancelled.
Similarly, contact Andrew L if you are unsure whether there will be training -
his contact details are on the contacts
page.
Also note that the
the following Club race details have been changed on the calendar:
FROM – Sun 28 February TO Saturday 27th Feb 4:00pm
FROM – Sun 14th March TO Saturday 13th March 4:00pm
The Marshals Roster has also been updated.

- JT Cycles Race 1
Congratulations to everyone who competed in Sunday's race at West Lakes. Results
are now up.
9/11/09
- Hot Weather
If you've not familiarised yourself with the Club's weather policy lately, this
week's soaring temperatures seems to be a timely reminder to have a look at our Governance
section. "When the predicted ambient temperature during an event is 32°C
or more, the Club's race director and/or committee members will contemplate
modifying, postponing, rerouting or cancelling sporting events or
training". So if you'd like to be out running or riding in the extreme
conditions this week, go out in the coolest parts of the day, early morning or
late evening and keep in touch with committee members to find out what's
happening with each training session this week.
7/11/09
- Time Trial Results
The Time Trial Results for this week (and last) are now available.

going to have!

12/07/09 - Fabulous
Forest First
The inaugural Cromer Forest MTB Duathlon was magnificent. Congratulations to
Kevin and his long line of helpers and support personnel. Thanks too to all club
members and relies who helped over the weekend. First past the post was Mark
"Blooming Brilliant" Bloomfield in 1:19:00 with Matty White winning
the Elite Male category in 1:27:59. First female home was Meadows talent Zoe
Dawson stopping the clock in 1:30:48. The sun shone on us all to warm our
fingers and toes mid-morning and the post-race BBQ and presentations rounded it
all of well. A few comments to bring a smile to your memories of the morning:
"That was awesome", said Cameron, 15 years old, entering T2 all
covered in mud; "I'm scared" said White, strapped to his mountain
bike in road shoes, off on his second bike loop and "that was truly the
best course ever", said Bloomfield, filthy and elated with his win. We hope
you all had a great day out. Results are up and photos will be available soon.
For the complete set of results go to the State
Events page.

Apologies to those people wondering where the website went on the weekend; it was missing in action. News from our web host broke late Sunday that an explosion in one of their US offices blew out three walls of a room and their ability to host our site was somewhat interrupted. Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident. Thanks for waiting patiently to see us up and running again.
X-terra results will be available soon and the next event will be at Fox Creek again on July 6.
There'll be no Monday night running training in North Adelaide next week due to the public holiday. Enjoy your long weekend if you get one.

The club's Annual General Meeting and Awards Night looks set to be held on Saturday 14 June. Pencil the date into your diary as we plan on having a terrific night of food, fun and celebrations following the meeting. The club is known for having the biggest turnout for an AGM, for any state tri club, and it would be great to have a good turnout again this year. Watch this space for more news on where, when and what to bring. Raffles, games and goodies are but some of the things planned!

4/5/08 - Eagle on the Hill Duathlon
Today we had the first club duathlon of the winter season. It was a great event at Eagle On The Hill with a choice of two distances. Kevin had the fastest time for the long course with Nick and Tom not far behind whilst Allan was the fastest individual in the short course. Next month we'll have an x-terra at Fox Creek (cross country running and mountain biking).
1/5/08 - Spin sessions
Many of you may have taken a break from intensive tri training over the past few weeks but now that the wintry months are here it's time to get back on the bike. Spin sessions this month are at Linden Park on Thursday the 1st, 15th and, 29th and Mt Barker on May 8th and 22nd. We'll also have the new shirt samples available for a final time. If you'd like to order a new Tribe polo shirt please come and try a sample on and pay your deposit on the day.

Keep an eye out for the winter training details on the web later in the week under "What's On".
29/3/08 - Teams Time Trials and Web Site Repairs
This week we had our final time trial for this season. It was our second only teams time trial format and this time covered the full two laps. It was a more challenging event for some than others but fun for all. The Clippingdale family kindly hosted a BBQ after the ride for a great end to our summer cycling programme. Photos should be up soon.
If you've been looking at the web site over the last few days you may have noticed a few glitches caused by technical difficulties (a disk crash). Hopefully all is fixed now but if you notice any problems (missing photos, broken links, etc) please e-mail the Web Master.
21/3/08
- Time Trials and Club Championships Photos
Yesterday's time trial had greatly reduced numbers, probably because everyone was so surprised to see some rain they stayed home to watch it! There were some brave soles that faced the conditions but Lachie, Russell and Kevin all had falls on the second lap. Results will be available soon. Photos from Sunday's Club Championships are also now on the web.
16/3/08 - Club Championships
Today's Club Championship events were very competitive with some closely contested age group racing. Well done to all and thanks to the marshals who gave us their time. Results are now available on the Club Tri's Results page. Rest well everyone.
14/3/08 - Time Trial
Not surprisingly numbers were down for last night's time trial. The heat kept many away from the event and "technical difficulties" (a flat tyre) put an end to Emily's ride for the night. Results are available in the usual place.
12/3/08 - Club Championships
This
Sunday, 16 March, the club championships are being held at the Woodside town
pool. Three races will be held - long, short and micro with club champions being
awarded their medallions at the AGM in June. The committee is putting on
breakfast afterwards so bring a hat and chair if you'd like to hang around after
the events.
10/3/08 - Victor Harbor Triathlon
Despite extreme heat and wind, yesterday's Victor Harbor Tri was a great success for the Tribe. Hayley Walker, Rob A, Matthew B and Antony completed their very first Olympic distance triathlons in very respectable times, Tara won first place in her age group and we had numerous second places. Well done to all and keep those fluids up! Photos are now available under Tribe Extras.
8/3/08 - Upcoming events
Tomorrow 9/3 - Victor Harbor Triathlons and Fun
Run/Walk
Next Sunday 16/3 - Club Championships
Thursday 27/3 - Teams Time Trial and Social BBQ
8/3/08 - Time Trials and Slice
Thursday night's time trial had a new flavour, "Kev slice" to celebrate Mark and Ty's birthdays. Once again there were some fantastic performances with Nick carving a massive 1:40 off his PB and & Emily a huge 1:15 off her PB. Well done! Times and photos are now available.
4/3/08 - Time Trials and Murray Man
Last week's time trial and the Murray Man results are now available on the results pages. We're still seeing some good turnouts for the time trials and some great times. In the Murray Man, Lin, Dave T & Mark B put in a great team effort whilst Dave W was the first individual Tribester home.
24/2/08 - Tri results
We had another huge Tribe turnout at the final race put on by Gatti Sports today. Well done to all who competed and the race winners. Special mention must be made of the Tribesters who won their series age-groups: Allan, Catherine, Tara and possibly Ty.
19/2/08 - Bruce and Sue's open
house social BBQ![]()
All are welcome to Bruce and Sue's new home this coming Sunday 24 February from 1pm. BYO BBQ food, a salad to share, drinks, chairs, bathers and hat. Please ask for directions if you are unsure of where to go.
8/2/08 - Time Trial
Another Thursday has passed and so too has another fun time trial. We had another night with a testing headwind but Big Kev (with his new equipment) showed us how to take on the wind as he finished only 14 seconds off his PB. Ty and Tara Manning both put in great efforts to be the only riders in the long course to achieve PBs on the night. Well done! Results are up.
3/2/08 - Club Handicapped Tri
Today we had 15 competitors for the Woodside triathlon. The race was a handicapped event and in great conditions we saw some fantastic performances. Jo, Jess and Zoe finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd over the line in the short course and Carl, Allan and Nick finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the long course. The fastest times of the day went to Dani, Kevin and Tara in the long course and Trent in the short course. In the mini, Curtis beat Sean and Tate home, whilst Hayley and Ella made up the tail end of the little race.
Results have been uploaded. Next month we have the club championships on the 16th of March, again at the Woodside town pool, register from 7:15am, we will start at 8am.
2/2/08 - Time Trials
Thursday night's time trial saw a number of new PBs set despite challenging conditions. Times are now available on the time trials results page.
27/1/08 - Tour Down Under
The Tribe put together a team this year for the Tour Down Under Challenge Ride. We were all keyed up the night before with some members collecting their jerseys at Thursday night's time trial. Des still did the time trial before the 138km ride from Mannum through Mount Pleasant, Woodside, Callington, Langhorne Creek and finally finishing in Strathalbyn.
Helen Roach returned from northern NSW to join our team (missing from photo). She has obviously got used to the warmer conditions interstate and set the quickest finishing time for the club, 4hrs and 3minutes for the long course. Several other club members started in Woodside to complete a 74km ride to Langhorne Creek and Strathalbyn also. The Tribesters were only a few of the 3000+ cyclists who joined in The Challenge Rides. It was a fantastic event and great fun was had by all.

13/1/08 - State Series Triathlon and Teams Time Trial
Today's State Series event saw a great turnout from the Tribe. The weather provided a surprise for the day with heavy rain which cleared before the first event started. That familiar old head wind on Military Road provided a challenge but we still saw some great achievements with Allan, Asha, Catherine, Emily, Emma, Jess, Kay and Tara all winning their age groups. The Clippingdale family had entries in the Mini, Tinman and Challenge distances and several new club members gave the West Lakes course a go for the first time. Well done to everyone who competed.
Thursday's teams time trial was shortened to one lap due to the heat and proved to be a really fun event. Thanks to Allan, Denise and Carl for their hospitality for the BBQ that followed, it was a terrific night to eat outdoors. Expect another teams time trial before the end of the season.
9/1/08 - Teams Time Trial
Tomorrow night we will be holding our inaugural teams time trial at Charleston. The expected warm conditions should aid some terrific times! A BYO BBQ will follow at Allan's home in Woodside. Please bring meat, drinks, chairs and a salad to share. It should be a great night out!
6/1/08 - Club Tri at Woodside
Today's club event saw a good turnout for some competitive and fun racing. Mark Bloomfield took out the long course event with a narrow (28 sec) win over Andrew Loose. The short course was won by Catherine Clohesy with a similarly close margin (20 sec) over Trent Manning.
The next Club Tri will be on the 3rd of February.
4/1/08 - Back on Track
This week we had our first run at the wetlands for 2008 with a group run into Mt Barker & back. Our next run is 09/01/2008 @ 6.30 pm @ the Oakbank racecourse members car park.
Last night we had the first time trial for the New Year. With only 30 seconds between riders at the start it made for some great riding and good times despite the testing conditions. Next week we'll be having a teams event followed by a BBQ. Let Kevin know if you'll be coming along.
02/01/08 - Happy New Year
Training sessions have recommenced as normal except you'll have to wait until the 15th for swimming at the Woodside Barracks. The next club triathlon is this Sunday 6 January at Woodside. With Christmas break nearing a teams time trial and post-training BBQ are being organised to welcome people back to Thursday night training in January. Stay tuned! The results have been uploaded.
9/12/07 - Christmas Chaos!
Saturday's Christmas Triathlon was well attended by club members. Six teams of three contested line honours over three races. Captains Kevin, Dani and Dave all worked their teams well to each secure a first placing in one of the races whilst Andrew K, Mick, Ty and Mark, Ian and Brett showed consistency amongst their 3rd and 4th placings. 18/11/07 - Hindmarsh Island Triathlon
Today saw the first ever Hindmarsh Island Club Triathlon. The weather and course were reportedly excellent and 21 Tribesters turned out for the competition. There was strong competition throughout the long course event with Rob first out of the water and Emily in hot pursuit. However, Mark B put in a strong ride and then a blinder of a run to take the out the race in 1:03:12. The short course saw a great comeback from Carl who, despite a less than desirable lead-up to the event, took the lead from start to finish.
